Just a week after his ordination Dr.(Rev,)(Alden B) Robbins was united in marriage at Canterbury, Connecticut,
to Miss Eliza C. Hough, a daughter of Samuel L. Hough, of that city.
She came to Muscatine with her husband and shared with him in his labors until 1850, when she was claimed as a victim of cholera, which was raging in the west at that time.

He was also predeceased by six brothers, William, Norman, Roger, Robert, John, and Edward 'Lucky' Irvine; and four sisters, Ruth Archer, Virginia Camuso, Muriel D'Orazio and Angel Marilyn Irvine; and two brothers-in-law, Ronald Brown and Paul Brown.
