Portsmouth, R.I. (December 1, 2008) - US SAILING announced today that The Racing

Racing Rules of Sailing Through 2012 - a companion to The Racing Rules of
Sailing - is also now available through US SAILING's online store.

The Racing Rules of Sailing are revised and published every four years by the
International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and the U.S. rulebook includes
prescriptions adopted by US SAILING for events held in the U.S. More information
about the rules and the US SAILING Racing Rules Committee is available at
www.ussailing.org/rules.

Dave Perry's Understanding the Racing Rules of Sailing Through 2012 is a guide
for sailors and race officials. Rules expert Dave Perry, who is also the current
chair of US SAILING's Appeals Committee, concisely and clearly answers all the
most commonly asked questions on the racing rules. The comprehensive,
easy-to-understand explanations, with extensive references to US SAILING Appeals
and ISAF Cases and illustrations by Brad Dellenbaugh, make this book a complete
and authoritative resource on the rules. The book also includes the complete
text of The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 and US SAILING prescriptions.

Also currently available is the new Handy Guide to the Racing Rules 2009-2012
published by US SAILING. The Handy Guide is a waterproof, pocket-sized, 16-page
companion to the rulebook that includes a brief overview of the rules for
competitors to consult on or off the water.

All of the products mentioned above are available through US SAILING's online
store at http://store.ussailing.org, with discounted rates for US SAILING
members.
