Both ABC and NBC Plan to Air U.S. Olympic Sailors on July 2 Evening News
Portsmouth, R.I. (July 2, 2008) – After appearing in many major newspapers this week, the recent algae bloom in Qingdao, China, has continued to spark media interest.
ABC World News with Charles Gibson has posted a webcast called “154 Square Miles of Algae” that covers the U.S. Olympic Team sailors in Qingdao and their experience with the algae. The Yngling and Men’s 470
teams were interviewed the morning of July 2 in Qingdao and a version of their piece is slated to run in tonight’s television news show pending breaking news. The show will run between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM depending on local ABC
station schedules. Please check your local listings to find correct air time for ABC World News with Charles Gibson.
NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams has not yet posted their web coverage of the sailing team story, but it should be posted tonight at 7:00 PM (Eastern). In their piece, they interviewed the U.S. Men’s
Windsurfer. That segment is also scheduled to run tonight pending breaking news. NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams airs at 6:30 PM in many areas, but please check your local listings for times.
